The Metabolism Is All The Chemical Processes

Metabolism is all the chemical processes that occur in the body of the living thing. Greece is derived from the metabolism of the word metabole which means change. Change here has two meanings. First, turn into more complexcompounds called anabolism, assimilation, or synthesis. Second, it is transformed into simpler compounds called catabolism or disimilasi. Thusmetabolism include two kinds of reactions, namely anabolism and catabolism.

This metabolic processes involving various chemical reactions with a number ofenergy it entails. Metabolism in living things can be distinguished into two namely catabolism and anabolism.

Catabolism is the process of decomposition or breakdown of complex organic compounds into compounds that are more simple. On the process ofcatabolism is happening the release of energy that results from the breakdown of complex organic compounds. In living beings, the process of catabolismincludes respiration and fermentation. For example the conversion ofcarbohydrates into CO2 and H2O in the process of respiration. This processgenerates a so called free energy reaction exergonic.

Respiration is distinguished into two kinds, namely aerobic and anaerobicrespiration.

Aerobic respiration is composed of several stages, namely:
Glycolysis is the process which converts glucose into pyruvic acid,
Krebs cycle is a process that converts the pyruvic acid into CO2 and adenosine triphosphate, ATP, andthe electron transport system.

Fermentation or anaerobic respiration is the breakdown of molecules without the aid of oxygen. In general the fermentation is done with the help ofmicroorganisms. Fermentation consists of three kinds, namely alcoholic fermentation, lactic acid fermentation, and acid fermentation of vinegar.

While anabolism is the process of formation or the arrangement or synthesis ofsimple organic compounds into more complex macromolecule compounds. Soessentially, the process, the process of anabolism is the antithesis of the process of catabolism. Macromolecules in question for example cell components such as proteins, carbohydrates, fats, and nucleic acids. Therefore, the process of its formation requires free energy then the reaction is called a endergonik reaction.Anabolism can occur through the process of photosynthesis and kemosintesis.

Synthesis of food substances require basic materials namely carbon dioxide, CO2, H2O, water, and energy. If the energy comes from the light, the processknown as photosynthesis, whereas, if the energy derived from chemical substances, then the process is referred to as kemosintesis.

The process of Photosynthesis in plants involves two stages, namely lightreaction and dark reaction. In the light reactions happen cross-Cyclic ElectronElectron or cross nonsiklik. This depends on the wavelength of the light beingon chloroplasts.

On the reaction of light generated ATP and Nicotinamide Adenine DinucleotidePhosphate, NADPH, which is accompanied by a breakdown of water occurs.While the dark reaction will occur On binding carbon dioxide gas which is accompanied by the generation of carbohydrates.
